Hey pals, welcome back to the Disney Magical Mindset Podcast, the place where Disney lovers like you and me learn how to bring the magic of the parks into our everyday lives. I’m Ruben, your Disney Magic Mentor, and I’m so glad you’re here today, because this episode is all about something we sometimes forget to do Celebrate good times. Come on, listen, I know that’s not Disney, but I just felt like singing and celebrating. Celebrating not just the big stuff, not just the wins, but life itself. Because here’s the truth you don’t need to wait for the perfect moment to celebrate, you are the celebration. I want to say that again, my friends you are the celebration.
And speaking of celebrations, I was at Disneyland this past week for the 70th anniversary kickoff. It was amazing. I mean, yeah, it was packed, but to just be there to kick off the celebration of the 70th anniversary, it was such a great time. Let me just give a little side note. When I walked into the Esplanade and there, you know, you have the option you’re going into Disneyland, which is typically where I always start my Disney day, or going into DCA California Adventure, and that day I was a little bummed because I couldn’t get a reservation for Disneyland, you know, for the kickoff celebration. But then when I got to Disneyland that day, I looked over at the line, which was massive, and then I looked over at the Disney California Adventure line nobody, and it was such a great way to start my morning. I got so much merch that I was able to go through all the stores and find things that I wanted that weren’t sold out yet. It was the best. And then, of course, I hopped over to Disneyland and continued the celebration with some friends that I met up with to take this 70th anniversary celebration, a story of celebration tour, and this tour included premiere seating for Paint the Night, so it was just a great way to cap off the day of celebration. But at the conclusion of our tour we were over there by it’s a Small World and we were able to catch the brand new Celebrate Happy cavalcade. It was just perfect timing. Our tour ended and there, just within, within I don’t know, maybe a few minutes of us uh ending the tour and just uh meeting saint hi to some, some other friends there, we, we, we were just in the perfect place to see this celebrate happy cavalcade would just think of like parade, but like shorter and a lot smaller, and, and it’s Mickey Mouse and all his pals as they make their way down, celebrating seven decades of happiness. And, of course, for me it was also cool to see Duffy and Shelly Mae, because these are actually characters that we’ve never seen in Disneyland ever, and so it was just a great time.
And the song, of course, I mean I’m dancing and just you know, trying to hold my camera, my phone so I can get the footage that I need, but it just felt so good. Have you ever been in those moments where you just feel good? I mean, disneyland of course, does that to you, but sometimes it’s not known Disneyland. You just have these moments throughout your day. Or you hear that song that just hits you and you just start to smile, or you see pictures of your kids or family and you just get happy. And so that was this moment for me the bright colors, the big smiles, the cast members dancing down with us and getting us all excited, and characters waving, the music blaring. And then what struck me in that moment was nobody in the crowd earned this celebration. Nobody had to do anything to deserve it, it just showed up, it rolled through town on its way to small world, like a burst of joy, reminding us all this is a day worth celebrating.
Just because we’re here, and I started thinking some more as I was there, just excited, celebrating, getting happy, you know, being in the moment. What if we actually started every day like a Disneyland cavalcade? What if we moved through Monday, wednesday or any day, thursday, with that kind of confidence, color and presence, not waiting for something good enough to happen, but deciding to bring the celebration with us wherever we go? It’s about mindset, it’s about attitude. What if, like every day, you’re like no, I’m bringing the celebration, I’m bringing the party, I’m not waiting for it to come to me, I’m going to bring the celebration to the people. In fact, I’m leading the parade because it’s my parade, and the thing about celebrating and celebrations is is like we’ve been trained and we’ve been conditioned to to celebrate until we’ve lost the weight, or until we finish the project, or until we’ve hit the goal or earned the raise or gotten the. Yes, you know, that’s when we feel like that’s the win and we’re going to celebrate and yes, of course, there’s no denying that.
But when I look at Disney and I just embrace this magic and I see this cavalcade coming down and I’m just like party time celebrate down and I’m just like party time celebrate. It reminds me of something so much deeper that the magic isn’t reserved for the end, it’s baked into the middle, it’s in the journey, it’s in the way we show up every day, it’s how you show up. In fact, how you show up is often how you finish. It’s like how you show up every single day will determine how you finish and what it looks like right when the parade you know kind of comes to the end. You know what I mean, friends, listen, sometimes the greatest mindset shift you can make is this Are you ready for it? You ready? It’s this I don’t need a party thrown for me. I’ll lead the parade myself. In fact. Yeah, it’s nice to have a party and I would love. I mean, who doesn’t want to party? But but just think of the power of the mindset, that magical mindset. I don’t need a party thrown for me. I am the party, I am leading the parade, I’m gonna show people what it looks like to celebrate, and you get to do this every day.
Especially listen, for many of us who love Disney and love the parks, that’s one of the reasons I think that we enjoy being there because it makes us happy and we feel like celebrating. But I want to continue to remind you that every day, you wake up to a brand new day, to a new life ahead of you. Right, the joy of a brand new morning. Listen, you get to choose. You can choose to celebrate. You could choose to be the party. You could choose to lead the parade yourself. Here’s what I mean when you choose to celebrate forward, not because something happened, but because you’re choosing joy. You know what happens. You shift your whole energy and that energy is contagious.
You’re not just walking into work. You’re bringing a vibe with you. You know that vibe, like you’re stepping onto Main Street, walking right down the middle. I say that all the time too, by the way. If you catch me on my stories and I’m in Disneyland, I’m like, well, I’m walking right down the middle of Main Street, usa, and I’m like every day I want to live like I’m walking right down the middle of Main Street. I know I may not be physically on Main Street, but I’ll take Main Street wherever I am. I’ll bring the parade wherever I am. I’ll bring the celebration wherever I’m going. That’s what I’m talking about right here. You’re not just going to the store. You’re smiling at the cashier, lifting their spirits, reminding them of their own humanity.
You’re not just getting through another week although I know sometimes it feels like that. You’re making the week better. You know why You’re making it better just by being in it, just by you being in the week, you’re making the week better. Yeah, because you’re bringing the party, because you’re leading the parade. You don’t need streamers or confetti. You know, or you know magic pixie dust, although it’s great because remember, I’ll keep reminding you you are the magic. You bring the pixie dust and I support all that. It’s great. But you know what? You just need your presence, because your presence is precious. Your presence is the party. I want you to believe that about yourself today. I need you to believe that about you, that your presence is precious, that your presence is the party. We can choose to be that because you are.
You’re not just on your way, you’re leading the parade. I want to say that again You’re not just on your way, you’re leading the parade and you know what happens when you’re leading the parade. I mean, it’s a different vibe up at the front, it really is. When you’re starting the parade. You know what it is Like. You’re the hype person. You’re there because you’re there to celebrate. You’re there to get us ready. You’re leading the charge and I just want you to believe that about yourself. This is your parade and you’re leading us into the celebration and you have the ability to make that happen every day. All right. So we’re leading the parade because this is your parade and you’re leading us to the celebration. And so this week, I want to challenge you. I want to challenge you to create your own cavalcade moment.
It could be anything. Maybe it’s your favorite playlist and you’re just going to dance in the kitchen and you’re just going to dance in the kitchen. I like doing that, by the way. You know, sometimes, when no one’s looking to you, just put on the music, blast it. You’re just dancing. Maybe it’s your favorite Disney songs. Whatever your favorite playlist, dance away.
Maybe you want to wear that outfit that makes you feel like royalty. Or perhaps you have some Mickey ears. I remember those ones from when I was a little kid. I have some. My son actually we still have his from when he was two. Find those Mickey ears and put them on. I know some of you got tons of Mickey ears.
Start your morning in your favorite Disney mug and make some good coffee. Maybe you’re going to light a candle that you’ve been saving for a special occasion, but now you’re going to light it for yourself because you are the special occasion, yeah. Or send a friend a message. You know a text message just to say, hey, I’m glad you’re here. I want you to know to that friend that you send that message, that I really appreciate you, I’m so glad that you’re my friend and you are amazing. Have the most awesome day. That’s it. There aren’t listen, these aren’t silly, they’re actually special, because they remind you that joy is allowed. Happiness is allowed, not later Now, right now. It’s allowed today.
I want you to think about that. I mean, yes, I know it’s a reward in the sense of when we accomplish something, then we want to celebrate, and what you have to understand is that celebration will always come, especially when you work hard for something and you win something right. So it’s inevitable that celebration, of course, is going to be waiting for you, but it’s fuel the reason why I want you to understand it’s fuel because you don’t have to wait until the end to celebrate. It’s the celebration that you start today that begins to fuel your future and fuel you into stepping into that dream and that goal right. You start now to celebrate and to live that kind of life, and guess what it does? It prepares you for the ultimate celebration that’s coming, and you don’t need permission to enjoy life while you’re still building it, listen, while you’re still living, while we’re here, because we know that tomorrow’s not promised.
All we have is this moment to celebrate. In fact, all we have is this parade today, because tomorrow’s parade, yes, it may not even be there. All we have is this parade right now, and so we have to celebrate, because this is our day, this is our moment, and we don’t know if we have another moment, another parade, tomorrow. So we have to celebrate with happiness and everything we’ve got, leading the parade because it’s our parade today, right now, because you deserve it and I deserve it. You don’t need to wait for the music to start. Be the one who starts the music, because someone out there is watching how you move through the world, and your joy might just give them the courage to show up too, to show up and lead their own parade.
I want to encourage you to smile bigger, laugh louder, show up like you’re the grand marshal of your own life, because you are, remember, you’re not just here for the ride, you’re here to lead the parade. And you know what? I think I bet you the parade you’re leading is pretty awesome. I bet you it’s an amazing parade. I bet you, if you had a chance to draw up the parade and to be the choreographer of the parade, like it would be one of the parades where I would be in the crowd and I will be celebrating, dancing, smiling, laughing at the parade that you’re leading, like just filling me with joy. Yeah, yeah, it’s your parade, you’re leading your parade and I’m all here for it. And then guess what? Then I’ll leave my parade and then I’ll invite you to as well.
Yeah, thank you, thank you. Thank you so much for being here. I really cherish and value these moments that you give me, that you listen and that you take time out of your it with a fellow Disney friend who might need a little magic in their life today to help them maybe get through the rest of the week. And if you haven’t done so already, please hit that subscribe button so you never miss an episode, and it would mean the world to me if you took a little more time out of your day to write a review, so we can continue to share this magical mindset message with others. Until next time, keep dreaming, keep believing, keep doing, keep going, keep leading the parade and remember you are the magic, because the magic is in you.
